Open studioWe want everyone to know: we are proud of our art!

At Atelier Mestdagh, we love our craft. Glass art is our passion. But our craft is often an unknown entity to the general public. As proud artisans, we want to highlight this amazing craft and introduce it to as many people as possible. We want to show the world exactly what our craft involves: what we do, what the options are today, what professional challenges we face, what the future has in store for glass art …

We regularly open the doors of our studio to interested visitors so that we can present our wonderful craft to the public.

Tours

Atelier Mestdagh organises guided tours on request. This can be for both large and small groups. As a visitor, you are immersed in the studio’s rich history and learn the secrets of this ancient craft. You get a taster of our current projects and can enjoy the scents and sounds of the studio. An amazing experience!

Inspiration evenings or VIP events

Atelier Mestdagh regularly organises inspiration or information evenings for architects, interior architects and designers, joiners, artists, designers, furniture makers, heritage consultants, heritage managers, church factories, insurance brokers and other experts. These are exclusive events, which can only be attended by invitation.

Sometimes, the studio is also hired for tastings or VIP events, as a unique and inspiring way to pamper important clients of a bank or wine merchant.

Interested? Send an e-mail to katrien@ateliermestdagh.be and tell us how we can help you.

Apprenticeships

Every year, we receive one or more interns from various study programmes in Europe: Master in Stained Glass Conservation and Heritage Management (University of York, York, UK), Creative Craftsman Glass (Sint-Lucas, Boxtel, NL), Master Interior Architecture (KUL, Ghent, BE), Master Restoration/Conservation in Glass Art(Antwerp University, Antwerp, BE)

Interns are only accepted after selection and for a long period. Studio visits can also be arranged in the framework of a study programme. We are always ready to offer a wide and very professional internship to young people wanting to work in the field.

At the same time, we obviously want to protect our own craft, professionalism and studio. For that reason, we no longer organise ‘stained-glass windows for beginners’ workshops.

Exhibitions

The artworks created or implemented in Atelier Mestdagh are often displayed at solo or group exhibitions. Stay informed via our blog and social media channels or send an e-mail to events@ateliermestdagh.be so that we can provide personal updates.
