As captain, I was forced to leave the ship to work on the computer from home. The doors were shut to customers, suppliers and visitors. Behind closed doors, anyone who can continue to work, but socially distanced and according to strict rules.[\/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line”][image_with_animation image_url=”1601″ alignment=”” animation=”Fade In” hover_animation=”none” border_radius=”none” box_shadow=”none” image_loading=”default” max_width=”100%” max_width_mobile=”default”][divider line_type=”No Line”][vc_column_text]Fortunately, there is work to do.

A few weeks ago, they commissioned a stained glass window for the planned solo exhibition of the French artist Gr\u00e9gory Decock, who ‘opens’ today, or rather is announced without opening the doors.
\nHe writes about the work…[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\u2018<\/em>Central work in the exhibition is the stained glass window made by\u00a0<\/em>Atelier Mestdagh<\/em><\/a>\u00a0in the gallery facade, an adaptation of the iconic caf\u00e9 windows by\u00a0<\/em>Omer Vander Ghinste Brewery<\/em><\/a>. In this version OMER became REMEMORE, which means remember in French. It refers to Gr\u00e9gory’s grandfather,\u00a0Omer Decock, a Kortrijk native who emigrated to France in the 1930s in search of work and a new life, and eventually raised his family there. Through the current context, all caf\u00e9s being closed and all cultural and sporting events having been cancelled by the Corona pandemic, the work acquired a new layer of meaning evoking these abandoned public spaces.\u2019<\/em>[\/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line”][image_with_animation image_url=”1598″ alignment=”” animation=”Fade In” hover_animation=”none” border_radius=”none” box_shadow=”none” image_loading=”default” max_width=”100%” max_width_mobile=”default”][divider line_type=”No Line”][vc_column_text]Restless but hopeful,
